Staten island black nigga arrested for robbing rich white people on bay street

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Police have pegged a recently released ex-convict from Elm Park as the second man involved in a string of muggings along a St. George waterfront esplanade.

Elijah McCormick.jpgElijah McCormick has been arrested in connection with the attacks on the North Shore waterfront.
Officers have arrested Elijah McCormick, 22, of the 100 block of Winant Street, charging him in connection with three armed robberies along the walkway that connects the St. George Ferry Terminal to the Bay Street Landing apartment complex.

One of the muggings ended in a severe beating, with the victim suffering a broken jaw and nose, according to prosecutors.

Police say McCormick and John Glick, 19, of Queens, committed two robberies on Aug. 31, at 6:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., and a third on Sept. 1, at 3:20 p.m., relieving the victims of cash, cell phones and, in one instance, a portable DVD player.

Glick was arrested on Sept. 2, McCormick this past Thursday.

Residents of the apartment complex have long expressed concerns about security along the poorly lit, often-desolate plaza they use to return home after debarking the ferry.

One victim told the Advance that a “spotter” identified him as a likely victim and pointed him out to two men lurking on the esplanade, who then descended, brandishing a knife, but police have said they’re not certain a spotter was involved in the muggings.

McCormick faces multiple counts of first-, second- and third-degree robbery, as well as two counts of second-degree assault, said Peter N. Spencer, a spokesman for District Attorney Daniel Donovan.

It’s not the first time McCormick has been linked to a mugging — police arrested him and a second suspect in August 2008, accusing them of robbing someone at knifepoint in Mariners Harbor, then fleeing on bicycles.

McCormick was convicted of third-degree robbery and sentenced to one and one-third to four years in prison the following January, and was conditionally released on parole this past April.

He was arraigned Friday in Stapleton Criminal Court and remains held on $100,000 bail until his next court date, tomorrow.
