Noah “40″ Shebib Breaks Down ‘Take Care’ and His Real Opinion of Kanye West

While Drake’s now platinum-selling album still resonates on listeners. MTV News had the oppertunity to travel to Toronto and catch a rare candid interview with Noah “40″ Shebib on the creative process behind Drake’s Take Care. 40 breaks down the album track-by-track, the freedom Young Money/Cash Money gives to Drake when working, and above opens up on the influence Kanye West has had on his career. In recent years there’s been much talk behind-the-scenes on Drake and 40’s relationship with ‘Ye and vise versa. While recent songs by Pusha T, and Common have also fueled rumors of problems between the two camps, 40 expresses nothing but admiration and gratitude towards Mr. West.

“I look up to that guy like crazy. I always have and I always will,” 40 said. “That’s someone who’s carved out a sound for rap music a couple of times, who has really influenced and changed the game as an individual. It would be crazy to say there’s competition.”
“I’m grateful to any and everybody that’s ever influenced me, including Mr. West.”
