STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - A sixth suspect been charged in the alleged
assault on a Good Samaritan at a Stapleton social club two months ago.
Duyan Kaine, 28, of the 300 block of Vanderbilt Avenue, Clifton, was arrested Tuesday, police said.
A
law enforcement source said Kaine and several other men barged into the
club on the 400 block of Targee Street about 9:20 p.m. on Dec. 14.
The
group began arguing with the club owner. A patron, who was playing
pool, tried to intercede and was beaten for his efforts, said the
source.
According to court records, the suspects cracked the
victim on the head with a bottle, hit him with a pool cue and punched
and kicked him. They grabbed his wallet and $150, along with the man's
cell phone.
Kaine was charged with felony counts of robbery,
assault and stolen-property possession, according to a spokesman for
District Attorney Daniel Donovan. He's also accused of misdemeanor
criminal weapon possession.
