STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A parolee accused of biting a woman in a domestic incident earlier this month hid in a closet inside his New Brighton apartment building when detectives came looking for him Friday, police allege.
Harvey Nieves, 30, is accused of biting the woman's arm inside a Capodanno Boulevard residence on May 11.
On Friday, a detective with a parole warrant tracked him to an apartment on the 500 block of Jersey Street, and subdued him, but not before he hid in a closet, then flailed at the detective and police officers who tried to arrest him, court papers allege.
Nieves, who is on parole in connection with a 2004 drug possession conviction, now faces additional charges of third-degree assault, second-degree harassment, resisting arrest and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
