17-year-old woman shot dead in Stapleton

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --

Police early this morning responded to emergency calls at 207 Gordon St., Stapleton, and found a 17-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

She was transported to Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton, where she was pronounced dead several hours later.

Her identity has not been released at this time pending family notification.

There were no arrests as of yet but the investigation continues. More details will be posted as they become available.
