STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- An Arrochar man ended a barroom argument over a woman with bullets this weekend, shooting another man in the stomach and back as he tried to flee, authorities allege.

Angel Sanchez Police say the argument started at a bar, though it’s not clear which one, early Saturday morning.
Angel Sanchez, 20, of McClean Avenue, was there with his girlfriend when the victim’s friend decided to strike up a conversation with the woman, police allege.
The victim and his buddy then left the bar to get something at a Stapleton deli, near the corner of Cedar and Broad street, and when he exited the store, at about 3:50 a.m., he found himself surrounded, police allege.
The victim took a swing at one member of the group, and Sanchez shot him in the stomach, police allege. He turned to flee, and Sanchez shot him again in the back, cops said.
The victim continued to run, and started slamming on the door of a nearby home, but Sanchez  pursued and started pummeling him, authorities allege.
The homeowner, who heard the commotion outside, called 911, and the group scattered. The victim identified Sanchez as the shooter, authorities said, and on Tuesday, police arrested him.
Sanchez is already on probation in a 2009 drug sale case, according to a law enforcement source.
He now faces charges of second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, first-degree criminal use of a firearm and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, said William J. Smith, a spokesman for District Attorney Daniel Donovan.
The victim required surgery to his intestines following the shooting, according to court papers.
