Mariners Harbor man charged with knifepoint robbery

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Mariners Harbor teen robbed a victim at knifepoint on Wednesday in his neighborhood, prosecutors charge.
Scott Rand, 17, of Holland Avenue, was aided by two accomplices who remain at large and an unidentified juvenile who was arrested, court papers said.
According to those documents, the suspects approached the victim at Andros Avenue and Richmond Terrace. They punched him, pushed him to the ground, then snatched his iPod at knifepoint. Court papers do not identify Rand’s cohorts.
Rand was charged with four felony counts of robbery and a felony count of grand larceny. He’s also accused of various misdemeanor charges, including assault and weapon possession.
