stapleton woman stabs park hill woman over dick
Valerie Carter, 26, stabbed the woman — identified in court papers as Natasha Lewis — in the back, neck and body 13 times after the two argued outside one of the buildings in the Park Hill Apartments complex on Park Hill Avenue in Clifton just after 1:30 a.m, according to police.
Ms. Lewis is listed in stable condition in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, according to authorities.
The two women have known each other since middle school, a law enforcement source said, and both had dated the same person at some point.
The women were arguing over children, the source said.
Ms. Carter admitted to the attack, telling police, "I started stabbing her," according to court papers.
She told detectives she was defending herself, the law enforcement source said.
According to court papers, Ms. Lewis suffered a collapsed lung and a severed ear lobe in the attack.
Ms. Carter was arrested yesterday morning in front of her home on the 200 block of Osgood Avenue.
She’s charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to William J. Smith, a spokesman for District Attorney Daniel Donovan.
Ms. Carter is slated to be arraigned in Stapleton Criminal Court this afternoon.
Attempts to reach Ms. Lewis were unsuccessful today.
