STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Cops arrested 12 people between 15 and 20 years old after a West Brighton house party got out of control, according to police.
Police responded to a call reporting a dispute with a firearm at the intersection of Dallas Street and Bement Avenue, according to NYPD spokesman Joseph Cavitolo.
When police officers responded, they began to scatter, running through private backyards in an attempt to escape Cavitolo said.
Cops gave chase and arrested 12 suspects on charges including disorderly conduct and trespass. A police helicopter was involved in the chase, which included a run through St. Peter's Cemetery.
One suspect is charged with assault, after biting a police officer, Cavitolo said.
