STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted in connection with an attempted robbery in Stapleton.

The attack happened May 18 at around 3 p.m., when two men pounced on their victim in the lobby of 29 Warren St., part of the Stapleton Houses, according to police.
The men grabbed the victim and cut him over his eye before attempting to rob him, police said.
Although the suspects fled on foot, building security cameras were able to capture pictures of the perpetrators.
View full sizeThe first suspect is described as a black male, about 16 to 18 years old, of dark complexion, seen wearing a multicolored Mercer Club shirt with the number 2 on the back.
The second wanted individual is also a black male between 16 and 18 years old, of light complexion.
He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with gold lettering in the front and a gray fitted hat.
Police are asking anyone with information on the suspects’ identities to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477).
