NEW CITY, N.Y. -- A Staten Island man who allegedly tried to give
State Police a false identity was sentenced to three years in prison on
drug charges, according to a report on Nyack-Piermont Patch.
Shaheim
Bowman, 26, of the 100 block of Brabant Street, Mariners Harbor, was
also ordered to serve three years on post-release supervision, Patch
reported.
Bowman was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped on
the New York State Thruway on Feb. 20, 2010 for traffic violations. Cops
found 285 Percocet pills and 78 Oxycontin pills, District Attorney
Thomas P. Zugibe said, according to Patch. As Bowman was transported to
the State Police barracks, troopers found 22 glassine envelopes
containing heroin in the back seat of the police cruiser, according to
the report.
Zugibe said Bowman attempted to hide his identity throughout the investigation, giving troopers the name of his older brother.
Bowman pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
