Shooting reported in Mariners Harbor; child rushed to hospital

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Emergency officials are rushing a small child to the emergency room after a shooting was reported in Mariners Harbor.
The child was reportedly shot at Van Pelt and Forest Avenues in Mariners Harbor, according to preliminary information on emergency radio transmissions.
The child was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton. The age and condition aren't currently known.
Police are looking for two suspects in the incident, both described as black males. One is said to be wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt. The second is wearing a red baseball cap.
They were last seen fleeing in a vehicle down Richmond Terrace toward St. George, according to emergency radio transmissions.
Helicopters are aiding in the search.
