STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - A New Brighton teen and two accomplices ganged up on a man outside of the Staten Island Ferry terminal Tuesday night, threw him onto the rocks near the shore, and robbed him, police allege.
Police say Emmanuel Rosario, 18, of the 100 block of Hendricks Avenue, and two others, who have not yet been arrested, came up behind their 20-year-old victim at about 9:20 p.m.
They punched and choked the man, then through him onto the rocks, police said. The group took his wallet, keys and cell phone, and one of the suspects took the earrings out of his ear, police said.
The group fled after that, but the victim flagged down security at the ferry, and was able to point out Rosario to police before he escaped, authorities said.
Rosario is charged with second- and third-degree robbery.
