STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Police today released a sketch of the suspect in a Stapleton robbery that left a man hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the buttocks.
The robbery occurred at about 4:55 a.m. on Jan. 20, near Prince Street and Wiederer Place.
A 37-year-old man was walking when a dark-colored SUV pulled along side. The suspect exited the vehicle with a gun and demanded property, cops say. The victim attempted to flee and was shot in the buttocks. He was transported to Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton. His injuries were not life threatening.
The suspect is described as an African American male, between the ages of 20 and 25. He is about 5’11” and weighs approximately 200 pounds.
