Kenny Burns On Compound Incident
Get More: Music News
Atlanta radio personality Kenny Burns spoke with MTV today to give his side of the incident that took place at Compound this past weekend in Atlanta. He says that Diddy was not directing his anger at him, but to another patron. I had a front row seat that night and Kenny’s right. There was someone else in their section taunting Diddy with a bottle of Grey Goose. Not to say Puff wasn’t wrong for his behavior, but that’s the truth, Ruth.
J.Cole Cole World Debuts At Number One
What you say Cole ain’t hot? According to Hits Daily Double, J.Cole’s debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story has sold an estimated 217,324 copies in it’s first week.
If the score holds up, this will be the highest solo hip-hop debut this year. Congrats to the entire Roc Nation and Dreamville teams. Final tally comes tomorrow, but for now, Cole, the floor is yours.
So many people to stunt on, fighting the urge to be spiteful. This moment is too important for that. Just want to say THANK YOU.
Thanks to yall, we shook the game up. No chart topping single, just 2 years of hard work, great music and real ass fans. #1 album. Thanks to every fan that held me down, every friend, every blog, magazine, tv, radio station, dj’s and pd’s, I feel like we ALL won
Jay-Z Breaks Silence on Lil Wayne Beef
Jay-Z has stayed away from his ongoing beef with Lil Wayne during recent interviews, but broke his silence during his Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation carnival in NYC this past Thursday.
Dishing to MTV, Jay stated, "That's sport, that's rap music. Nothing is going to change, the only thing that changes is the participants."
The lyrics that started the uprising were on Jay-Z's "H.A.M.," where he fired off with "I'm like really half a billi/n*gga really you got baby money/keep it real with n*ggas/ n*gga you ain't got my lady money."
It wasn't long before Wayne released a firey comback on Tha Carter IV track "It's Good," with "Talkin' bout baby money/I got your baby money/kidnap your b*tch, get that "how-much-you-love-your-lady" money."
It's good to finally get Jay's outlook on the situation, but this beef is far from over.
